One More Lap for Kids' Village is Lichfield's 12-hour charity ultramarathon that's the best fun you'll have in trainers. Teams of 4-6 take turns to run relay-style round a flat 0.75-mile loop, from sunrise to sunset.
In between there’s live music, street food, decorated gazebos, cheering support crews, and FREE ICE CREAM.
Social Running 🤝 Social Good
Run club, work team, the famalam gang or a just bunch of mates? If you’ve got a group chat, you’ve got an OML team.
OML’s free to enter. Instead, teams pledge to raise money for Kids' Village, a local Lichfield charity for children with critical illnesses.
We're only asking you to raise ÂŁ100 per runner. That's just ten pounds from ten pals.
We’ll help you get your fundraising going and teams regularly smash their targets. In fact, they've raised £88k since 2024 🙌
Your Team Challenge
OML is a challenge. But how far you push yourself is up to you.
Run it, walk it, do it dressed as an inflatable dinosaur 🦖
With your team cheering you on, you might find you’ve got a little more left in the tank than you thought.
Maybe enough to do One More Lap for Kids’ Village?
Don't have your full team sorted yet? No problemo. You can register now and organise your teammates later, yeah?

A TEAM CHALLENGE
Shared suffering is _so_ much more enjoyable
Psst! Want to hear another secret? You don't actually have to suffer at One More Lap at all. It's completely optional! Here's how the running part of One More Lap works on the day.
1. Team
One More Lap’s a team event.
Your team can have between 4 & 6 runners, who’ll take it in turns, relay style, to lap the OML course, one runner at a time.
Tall, short, fast, slow, Nike Alphafly 4s, Crocs, boy, girl, runner, walker. Everyone's welcome and anyone can be on your team, in any combination. There are no rules.
Notes from Ian: There are rules: No roller skates. Also, you can run solo. If you fancy it, drop me a note.
2. Run
How you & your team run One More Lap is completely down to you.
Want to split the effort evenly with everyone running the same amount? That’s fine. Let your team’s Forrest Gump do the lion’s share of running? That’s fine too. Or why not go wild and swap runners after every lap?
If you're an experienced runner, you can push yourself. If you're happier running 5k, why not aim for a new PB distance?
Whatever you do, it’s your laps, run at your pace. You decide.
3. Rest
When you’ve done some laps, pass the baton and come back into camp for a rest.
You and your team can take a break whenever you want. Although you can only have one runner on the course at once, you don’t always have to have someone running.
So have a break, have a Kit Kat, enjoy a little camp life then get back on the laps again when you’re ready.
"The base camp, the entertainment, the coffee shop van, the fun vibes, it was SUCH a great day."
A.N. Other-Runner — OML 2025.
Fundraising Festival of Running
One More Lap's so much more than just another ultra though. It's a day-long fundraising festival of running.
Our Event Camps are filled with music & laughter, food & drink and buzzing with the energy of runners & your support crew cheering you on.
It’s guaranteed to be a day you’ll never forget. Promise.
Let’s build the camp together
Your team needs to bring a gazebo or tent that’s big enough to fit you and all your supplies in.
There’ll be plenty of room on the field so if you’ve got a big one, feel free to bring it.
Plus, you’ll likely be in camp for a fair while so something to sit on – camping chairs, inflatable sofas, hammocks. You decide.
Best Dressed Pitch Award 🏆
We'd love you to turn your corner of the camp into "Your Happy Place" – whatever and wherever that might be.
Why not transform your pitch into a pub? How about spending the day at the spa (or Spar?). Maybe stretch out on a sun lounger while listening to hula music. It’s up to you…
There’s a fabulous Fortnum & Mason’s hamper & some champagne up for grabs for the Best Dressed Pitch
So, get your thinking caps on, get out of your pain cave, and help us make camp an ultra-Happy Place.
Why we're running One More Lap
Making magical memories at the UK’s first respite holiday village for children with critical illness.
Kids' Village is the UK's first holiday respite village for critically ill children and their families — a place where, for a wonderful moment, life can be magical again.
Set in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside, just outside Lichfield, Kids’ Village will offer magical breaks, like no other. It will be a place for imagination, to enjoy nature and feel free from daily challenges of battling a serious illness.
This year, we’re fundraising at One More Lap to help make a lifetime of magical memories for families 🩷
Your Fundraising Commitment
One More Lap is free to enter but…
By signing up to One More Lap you’re committing to hit a fundraising target for Kids' Village.
That might sound scary but we’re reasonable people. So we're only asking you to raise... *drum roll*
Our runners raised more than ÂŁ210 each on average last year!
Here with the tips
We're sure you'll smash that. But if you are worried about hitting your target, we'll help with your fundraising planning – we just need 100% effort from you :)
To help you get started, why not check out our fundraising tips?

Still Just So Many Questions...
No, you absolutely don’t need to be an ultra-runner. In fact, if you can already run 5 to 10km, you can enjoy being part of One More Lap.
OML is an ultra for parkrunners? No Jokes.
No, this is a team event.
You run for as long as you want to, do as many laps as you want to, then swap over with another runner on your team. Teams have between 4 and 6 runners on them. So, you can do the maths; you’ll probably be running between 2 and 3 hours across the day.
Teams are between 4 and 6 runners. It makes the maths easier for dividing up the running. Although when you’re 10 hours into a 12-hour run, no maths is easy maths.
Just like our dancing, registering for One More Lap only has two steps.
Step One — Be the leader you were born to be.
Click the Register Your Team button and book your team's free spot at One More Lap. It'll take you less time than running 400 metres. Promise.
Step Two — Assemble your crack team of runners.
Once you've registered, you'll get a link to share with your teammates so they can send us their details. Don't worry if you haven't got everyone sorted yet. You can do that later.
And that's it. Once we've got your team details, you're in!
No, don't let that stop you from signing up. If you think you know who else will be on the team, go ahead a register.
Obviously, you'll have to tell them at some point that you've signed them up to a 12-hour ultramarathon and they've got to fundraise ÂŁ100 for charity.
But it doesn't have to be before you register your team.
Yes, walking’s no problem at all. In fact, we have some teams who decide to walk the whole thing and that’s great. Come and do One More Lap your way.
It’s dead simple really. It works exactly like the relays you see at the Olympics. Every team gets a baton. One runner at a time carries the baton round the course. When they’ve done their laps, they come back to camp and pass the baton onto the next runner.
There are a couple of tiny differences from the Olympics though.
Our batons are really slap bands, so you don’t have to worry about carrying it round with you.
You can have more than one runner running together at a time if you want, but only the laps of the runner with the baton will count.
You can run as many times as you want to across the day, and there’s no fixed order in which you have to run.
And you and your team can take a break whenever you want. Although you can only have one runner on the course at once, you don’t always have to have someone running.
Yes! It’s really free to enter One More Lap. There is no registration fee when you sign up BUT…
When you do sign up you're committing to raise some money for charity.
By signing up to One More Lap you’re committing to hit a fundraising target.
That might sound scary but we’re reasonable people. So, we're only asking you to raise £100 per runner.
This is a team target though. So, if you have 4 runners, we’d like you to raise at least £400 as a team. If you have 6 runners, you got it, we’d like you to raise at least £600.
For every runner who doesn’t reach their target a fairy loses its wings. Possibly.
Not every runner will make it to their £100 target. We get that. So, your fundraising target is a team target. If you think you’re going to miss your target, first step is to chat to the rest of the team.
Plus, we’ve got a whole bucket of tips to help you get to your target and beyond.
Ultimately, if you don’t make it, you can still come and run. We appreciate every penny you’ve helped raise.
We let anyone over 12 come and be part of One More Lap.
We do have some extra rules about how much under 18s can run, and whether they can run alone, depending on their age.
Drop Ian a note for more details.
There are toilets. One More Lap is an endurance challenge, but that challenge isn’t “can you hold onto a wee for 12 hours”.
Ah, OK. No. The will be portaloos and we can only apologise for the state of them in advance.
If the worst comes to the worst there are public toilets in the nearby Bird Street carpark. And plent of cafes in town with actual loos. But then you're missing out on an essential festival experience, right?
Yes. The nearest car park is zero metres away – the Lombard Street Carpark has an exit onto Stowe Field.
It’s £2.10 for all-day parking on a Sunday.
There will be plenty of room for us all.
There is a height restriction, if you have a van.
